Heinz founded his company in 1951 by using the now famous slogan "57 varieties" as a riff on a shoe ad he liked. Bob Sheetz founded SheetZ, Inc. in 1952 when he bought a small grocery store and gas station chain in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

The family business is headquartered in Philadelphia, where Gottlieb Dietz founded the company in 1939, but it is found throughout the country. Their hand-picked balsamic vinegars come from Modena, Italy, while their wide range of olive oils are sold in many countries around the world.

Imported from Germany, it is hard to imagine that there will be an outdoor event in Pennsylvania in the summer, where unfried dough is covered in powdered sugar. Handmade in the heart of Lancaster County, Ghee is simply made from grass - fed, organic, non-dairy and organic. Don't believe the horrible lies people in other states tell you that cakes and cookies with creamy fillings are absolutely a Pennsylvania thing.

Pretzels were invented in Europe in the Middle Ages, but Pennsylvania is famous for producing both hard and soft varieties, from the Snyders in Hanover to its more popular cousin, pretzels. German settlers brought them here, and as you will see from reading, high-quality ice cream is being distributed throughout the state.
