The teachers and administration have created a one of a kind Environmental Science program that engages the students in learning. The principal and the counselor greet the kids as they come off the bus and know the kids by name. The teachers are dedicated to the kids and the curriculum. There is great parent involvement in this school from helping in the classroom to PTO. My son has had an excellent education at Schaeffer and loves reading now due to teacher, school, and principal intitiatives.” Posted By: parent Quality Score: 5 2006-06-13 “My son, now 3rd grade, has loved Schaeffer since we moved from Florida 2 years ago. Schaeffer has a strong science emphasis across the curriculum and a friendly, helpful and personable staff. The principal knows the parents and students and greets you and them by name. There are many activities throughout the year that help to build community within the school. We just think it is great!” Posted By: parent Quality Score: 5 2006-04-03 “There are abundant opportunities at Schaeffer. It's a neighborhood school with caring teachers and great curriculum. They incorporate environmental learning into most of their subjects. Music, art and phys ed are taught and sports are through the township, but many play at Schaeffer. Since Schaeffer is a small neighborhood school, many of the parents know each other or have met through school or sporting activities. They have good discipline at Schaeffer with a no tolerance policy on bullying. Counseling is readily available and Schaeffer's counselor seems to know all of the children and just talks with them if she feels something is wrong or she notices changes in behavior etc. Someone once told me that he felt Schaeffer offered a better education than what he could have paid for at a private school where he previously lived. I would have to highly agree.”
