“Overall, Brecht Elementary is a wonderful choice for your child's education. The teachers are extremely supportive. Their curriculum includes items unique to their school only. Last year, in 3rd grade, my son actually performed with his entire class the Nutcracker Ballet. It was a wonderful way to expose the children to classical music and my son has wanted to listen to more. They have also learned how to use Powerpoint for presentations. This year, his class is learning to write narratives and later will learn to write poetry. The only thing I think that could use improvement is in the learning support program. Their new teacher at least seems more receptive to parent input. There needs to be more communication and coordination between support staff and regular classroom teachers. There does seem to be more discussion between them and hopefully this will benefit the school and students alike.”
